Santa Rosa Valley, located in Ventura County, is a small, rural community encompassing 6.9 square miles. Initially developed exclusively for agricultural purposes—mostly equestrian—this unincorporated community borders the cities of Camarillo, Moorpark and Thousand Oaks.
Due to its many member organizations focused on the equestrian lifestyle, such as the Santa Rosa Pony Club, Santa Rosa Equestrian Park, and Santa Rosa Valley Riders, give Santa Rosa Valley residents strong community ties. To further develop the equestrian trails, in 2004, residents established the Santa Rosa Valley Trails, Inc. With its mission to provide financing for the creation of a trail plan for Santa Rosa Valley, the Santa Rosa Valley Trails, Inc. assists homeowners in donating easements for trail riding purposes. Nearby to the north are the Las Posas Hills, and to the south, Wildwood Park boasts hundreds of acres of captivating trails.
Santa Rosa residents enjoy refreshing ocean breezes and an ideal climate for growing avocados. Five major avocado orchard companies call Santa Rosa Valley home.
Government: Santa Rosa Valley is governed by Ventura County, and Santa Rosa Valley students attend the Camarillo schools, including the Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School (SRTMS), the promotes an emphasis on technology.
